Yes k-ii.

     sk-ii.

        Sounds like a sneeze. Or a code word for a bay area techie. We should clear that up; it is far from it. In my search of finding a great sheet mask, the latest trend and latest obsession, I kept hearing a whisper of the word "sk-ii." I had absolutely no attachment to the words seeing as I have never heard of the brand before. After speaking to a friend and reviewing hundreds of others like me on Sephora, sk-ii, Byrdie, etc, I finally decided to try the damn thing!  

        As fate would have it, I was visiting my favorite cousin in NYC and wandering around Manhattan when I stumbled into Saks on 5th. I made my way to the sk-ii counter, and on a whim purchased their facial treatment mask. A recent interview with Ellen Pompeo aka Meredith Grey on Into the Gloss proved the Queen of TV is a solid advocate for the sk-ii line in keeping her skin gorgeous and hydrated.

I wasn't expecting much seeing as I had tried various brands and remained unimpressed. My skin at the time was wind-chapped, pink, and dry. A harsh combination of my retina as well as the changing seasons of NYC.

  As I returned to my cousins' apartment, I happily washed my face and threw on the mask. I have to say, I was impressed with the intensity of the packaging, it left every drop of their precious serum inside the foil. I took out the thick, very wet mask and let it sit on my face. Again, surprised by the fact that although it seemed to be very large, it fit my face perfectly snug and no product dripped like many others in the past. It smells faintly of something floral and powdery (yes I am wearing one while typing) and feels every so soft and cool. 

  The results; magic. My face instantly felt smoother, hydrated and appeared to be glowing like the softness of a waxing moon. Although it said to keep it on for 15 minutes, I usually leave it for at least 25-30 minutes and keep it in the fridge before use. The effects of the mask last me at least three days. I feel more confident in my skin, brighter, lighter. I know it is a splurge which is why I recommend purchasing a single sheet mask through Sephora to test the results for yourself. I am so impressed with this product and cannot wait to dive further into their line.
