Green juice. Aka basic bitch tonic. Everyone drinks green juice or some variation of the sort, and admittedly I definitely am one of them. I am sure as kids our grandmas and mothers used to sneak a little broccoli or a little spinach into our smoothies at the turn of our backs. Totes okay. I love green shit!
Alright so green juice. What really kales me (haha) is when it gets ruined by sickly sweet fruit. That doesn't mean it has to taste like liquid tanbark...but still. Don't get me wrong I love fruit, but in a clean, super healthy juice I prefer simple veggies.
Health benefits of beets:

Who here likes beets? Not for everyone. I mean they are delicious at La Boulange with grated orange zest and goat cheese...yuuuum. Anyways, I digress. Trader Joe's newest addition is 100% pure beet juice with a splash of lemon. I happen to love beets, but I do get why a lot of people don't like the earthy, rooty taste.
This juice is awesome for those who maybe don't like the taste of beets, but could really benefit from the properties. The taste is pretty mild in comparison to a lightly seasoned or raw beet. I probably wouldn't drink it straight, but would recommend adding it to a green juice.
Here is mine..Currently sipping while listening to Asgeir. (P.s. I didn't make it or I wouldn't have added the banana!)
Green juice
a handful of spinach
a healthy pour of TJ's beet juice
half a banana
a handful of pineapple
a splash of coconut water
Modify to taste, and enjoy the benefits!!
Have you tried coconut butter in green smoothies? Sooo freaking good
ReplyDeleteYes! Sometimes I make it or eat it straight out of the jar. So yummy!
